GDPR Communication Options

In this article, you will learn how to enable and set up the GDPR options in your Apifon account.

The GDPR Communication Options are an addition to your Signup and Update Forms so that subscribers can manually check boxes and give consent for each type of communication they are allowing you to send. 

Here is the essential information you need to know about Apifon GDPR Options:

  • The activation of the GDPR is optional for each list
  • When the GDPR  are activated, you will only be able to send to subscribers that have given their consent to this specific type of communication.
  • You can view and manage your subscribers' GDPR options on your list. Every subscriber that has given consent will appear with a check symbol in the corresponding GDPR communication field. 


Set up GDPR Options

Steps to enable and configure GDPR communication preferences:

You can enable and edit the GDPR Communication Options while you are creating a New List, or on an existing list by following the steps below:

  1. Go to Subscribers > Lists from the main menu.
  2. Select the list you want to edit.

  3. From the list menu, click Settings.

  4. Select GDPR.
  5. Click the toggle switch to enable GDPR options.

  6. Fill in the Title and Description, briefly explaining the reason you are requesting your subscribers’ consent. Then click Save.


  7. Add the Checkboxes that will appear on the form – each checkbox represents a communication reason (e.g., promotions, updates, contests, etc)

  8. Fill in the Legal Text, outlining your communication policy. Clearly explain how subscribers can update their preferences at any time. Then, click Save.
